The Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated the newly elected National Working Committee, describing the outcome of the party’s national convention as a reaffirmation of PDP’s resolve to rebuild and reposition ahead of future elections.
The convention, held on November 15 and 16 at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, produced Barrister (Dr.) Kabiru Tanimu Turaki as National Chairman, alongside other national officers.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Otunba Kayode Adebayo, the Ogun PDP also celebrated the emergence of its former state secretary, Omo’ba Dr. Sunday Solarin, as the new National Deputy Organising Secretary.
Adebayo described Solarin’s victory as well-deserved, noting that his elevation was a recognition of his “competence, administrative capacity, and unwavering commitment to party development” at both state and national levels.
“We are confident that Dr. Solarin will bring his brilliance, organisational strength, and proven leadership to bear on the party’s mobilisation structure across the federation,” the statement said.
The party commended PDP governors, delegates and stakeholders for the peaceful conduct of the convention, saying the outcome reflects the resilience and unity of “genuine and loyal party members.”
Ogun PDP also pledged to work harmoniously with the new national leadership to strengthen the party’s structures and restore its electoral dominance.
“Congratulations to all members of the PDP family. Ogun State PDP stands ready to collaborate with the new NWC to return the party to winning ways,” the statement added.
