The DS Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Itori, Ewekoro, Ogun State,on Thursday, held its 18th Matriculation Ceremony for a new cohort of students into its academic fold.
Addressing the new students, the institution’s Rector, Dr. Goke Raufu, emphasised the importance of nurturing a passion for education beyond the mere acquisition of knowledge.
He said “our curriculum is meticulously designed to equip you with the tools and insights needed to thrive in today’s dynamic landscape.
“But remember, education extends beyond the confines of classrooms. Engage in activities that complement your academic journey, enrich your education, and foster lifelong relationships.”
Dr. Raufu however, issued a stern warning against negative influences, particularly cultism and hooliganism, emphasizing the institution’s zero-tolerance policy towards such behaviours.
Chairman of the Governing Council, Amb. Toye Okanlawon, expressed gratitude to the Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for his unwavering commitment to education and support for the institution’s endeavours.
He further unveiled ambitious plans for the institution’s expansion, including the introduction of cutting-edge programs, state-of-the-art facilities, and strategic partnerships aimed at enhancing the overall learning experience and career prospects for students.
In a significant move aimed at fostering a conducive academic environment, Okanlawon announced the institution’s commitment to providing competitive wages for its staff, ensuring their continued dedication to the pursuit of academic excellence.
