Moruf Afuape, a dedicated member of the House of Representatives representing Abeokuta South, Ogun State, widely known as Afoo, has initiated free summer coaching classes tagged “Afolabi Moruf Afuape Summer Coaching”.

He also  donated  writing materials to the students within the state.

This coaching class and donation exercise  marked as  its second edition and took place in two schools ;  Reverend Kuti Grammar School,Isabo,  and St. Peter Ake in Abeokuta.

During the event, Moruf Afuape, a two-term commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, highlighted the programme’s mission to bolster education in the state.

He revealed that the program had its inception in 2022 and emphasized its dedication to nurturing high-quality, dedicated students who could serve as future representatives of the nation.

For this purpose, Afuape hired 20 professional teachers, who were divided between the two schools, to instruct students during the summer break.

At Reverend Kuti Grammar School, Afuape, who had previously served as a lecturer at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, engaged Senior Secondary School 1 (SS1) students in an economics lesson centered on the concept of demand.

Following the class, he encouraged students to remain focused on their studies and maintain a positive mindset, emphasizing their potential as future leaders of the country.

He pledged his continued support to the students, vowing to provide whatever assistance necessary to ensure their access to quality education.

To underscore his commitment, he generously donated 30 chairs capable of accommodating 60 students to the school, along with essential writing materials like books, facilitating a conducive learning environment.

Reacting to this benevolence, the principal of Reverend Kuti Grammar School, Ogunseun Sunday, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the House of Representatives member.

He underscored the significance of Afuape’s contributions to the school, speaking on behalf of the school’s management and expressing hope for continued support.

A student of the school, Ewunmi Fatia, extended her thanks to Afoo for his invaluable support during a time when parents were facing difficulties sponsoring summer lessons for their children. She offered her gratitude and prayers for his success in becoming the future governor of the state.

Likewise, Kehinde Tomisin, another student, emphasized the benefits of summer classes in preparing students for examinations. She thanked Afoo for coming to their aid and pledged on behalf of her peers to excel academically.

Mrs. Apojuado Motunrayo, a parent who had once been a student of the former lecturer, lauded Afuape’s commitment to his students, describing him as a disciplined individual who consistently sought the best for his students.

In response, Moruf Afuape pledged to continue the annual program and announced plans to organize JAMB coaching classes for SS3 students.

He also indicated his intention to sponsor the best-performing student in each class throughout their university level education.
