A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, Tunji Akinosi, has facilitated a two-day skill acquisition programme, equipping over 100 youths and women with essential entrepreneurial skills.
The initiative, which took place on August 30, 2024, marks a significant stride in Akinosi’s commitment to fostering sustainable development in his constituency.
The programme, centered on soap and perfume making, was organized in collaboration with Industrial Arbitration and Panel Inditex Global Services LTD, providing participants with hands-on training and practical knowledge.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that Akinosi, who personally oversaw the final stages of the programme, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and the eagerness displayed by the trainees.
Speaking at the event, Akinosi, a seasoned politician and former Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government as well as a two-time Commissioner in Ogun State, underscored the importance of self-reliance in today’s economy.
He urged participants to capitalise on the skills acquired and the grants provided, which are intended to help kickstart their entrepreneurial ventures.
“This programme is not just about acquiring skills; it’s about transforming lives and empowering you to take charge of your economic future,” Akinosi stated.
He further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his Renewed Hope agenda, emphasizing that such grassroots initiatives are crucial to actualizing the President’s vision of a more prosperous and self-sufficient Nigeria.
Each participant was awarded a certificate of participation and a startup grant, reflecting Akinosi’s ongoing efforts to improve the socio-economic landscape of Ado-Odo/Ota.
The initiative aligns with his broader mission to equip the constituency’s youth and women with practical skills that can drive economic growth and foster self-reliance.
