The Imole Progressive Network has announced a series of agricultural empowerment programmes targeted at farmers across the Ondo North Senatorial District, beginning November 28, 2025.
According to an internal memo signed by the group’s Secretary General, Hon. Olorunfemi Christopher Ibukun, the initiative was approved by the organisation’s Director-General, Engr. Michael Abayomi Adeyanju, as part of efforts to strengthen food production and support rural farmers ahead of the 2026 planting season.
The programme, which will run in phases across six local government areas, is expected to distribute essential farming tools and inputs to registered farmers.
The empowerment begins on November 28 with farmers in Ose and Owo Local Government Areas.
On December 5, the distribution train moves to Akoko South-West and Akoko South-East, while the final phase will hold on December 12 in Akoko North-West and Akoko North-East.
Ibukun said coordinators across all LGAs have been directed to mobilise participants and ensure a seamless exercise.
Each participating farmer will receive a package containing: Cutlasses ; Chemical pumping machines ; Agricultural chemicals ; Maize seeds and Other essential farm tools and inputs
The Secretary General described the intervention as a timely response to the rising cost of farm inputs and a deliberate effort by the network to “empower food producers and boost agricultural productivity across Ondo North.”
He added: “We urge all coordinators to ensure full participation and proper organisation in their respective local governments to guarantee the success of this programme.”
The empowerment initiative is expected to support hundreds of farmers and contribute to improved food security in the region.
