OOU Spokesman Honoured, Bags APBN Excellence Award

The Deputy Registrar in charge of the Corporate Affairs Division at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Adeniyi Oduwole,has been honoured by the Ogun State Chapter of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria (APBN).

 

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the  honour was bestowed  on Oduwole during the 2024 Professional Summit and Award Presentation held recently at the Obas Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Oduwole, renowned for his expertise in public relations and seasoned administrative skills, received the Award of Professional Excellence. 

Oduwole was said to have been endorsed by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) ahead of the nomination for the award 

Oduwole holds memberships in several distinguished bodies, including the International Public Relations Communication and Marketing Network, Canada; Public Relations Society of America; Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ); Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria; Association of Nigeria University Professional Administrators (ANUPA); and the Association of University Administrators (AUA), United Kingdom.

Oduwole’s career at OOU has been marked by meritorious service in various capacities. Currently, he is on sabbatical leave at the Media and Corporate Relations Division of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, where he continues to make significant contributions.

Beyond his roles within the university, Oduwole has demonstrated exceptional dedication to national service.

 His expertise in crisis management, industrial relations, strategic formulation and implementation, and excellent communication skills have played a crucial role in fostering peaceful co-existence within university communities and their surrounding environments. 

His efforts have significantly contributed to educational development and professional standards.

In his commendation, APBN Chairman, Alhaji Ebun Atinuke, highlighted Oduwole’s unwavering commitment to professionalism, hard work, and dedication.

 He noted that Oduwole’s contributions have been pivotal in advancing the goals of the APBN and its affiliated bodies.

Expressing his gratitude, Oduwole stated, “I am truly humbled and honoured to receive this prestigious award. 

“I am grateful to the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria for recognising my efforts and dedication. This award is not just a recognition of my own work but also a testament to the support of my family, professional colleagues, and mentors.”

He continued, “I want to sincerely appreciate everyone who supported me every step of the way. This honour is a testament to the power of teamwork, collaboration, and perseverance.

“ I am proud to be part of a community that values excellence and strives to make a positive impact. I will cherish this award always and continue to strive for excellence in all that I do, believing that others can be inspired to make a difference in our society.”

The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya; Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Babatunde Kehinde; Corps Commander, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Seni Ogunyemi; former Rector, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Waheed Kadiri; Vice President, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Dr. Abdussobur Salaam; and Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Kunle Ashimi, among others.
