    Osun Gov Declares Wednesday Work-Free Day For Hijrah 1445

    Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has declared Wednesday, July as a public holiday in commemoration of the new year Hijrah 1445 AH by Muslims.

    Adeleke disclosed this in a statement released to journalists on Tuesday in Osogbo, the State capital, by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties, Mr Mudashiru Oyedeji.

    Oyedeji said Governor Adeleke will preside over a special march past on Saturday at Osogbo Township Stadium to take a symbolic salute as part of series of activities lined up to mark the new Islamic year.

    Meanwhile, the governor has also fixed the inauguration and swearing-in of new Commissioners on the same day.

    The Spokesperson to the Governor, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, in a statement, said the inauguration followed the confirmation of the commissioners by the State House of Assembly.

    Mallam Rasheed in part: “Governor Ademola Adeleke has fixed tomorrow Wednesday 19th of July for the inauguration and swearing in of the newly appointed commissioners.”

    He added that the event is billed to hold at the Local Government Service Commission building, Government Secretariat, Osogbo, by 10 am.

    “All commissioners designates are to be seated before 10am,” Rasheed stated.
