Billionaire philanthropist, Femi Otedola, through his foundation, the Femi Otedola Foundation (FOF), has extended a helping hand to the family of Sodiq and Abiodun Olayode, who recently welcomed quadruplets.

The foundation donated a sum of N5 million to assist the family in managing the sudden increase in their household size.

The story of the Olayode family gained widespread attention last month after a friend of the family, identified as James, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to seek financial assistance for the couple.

James’s post quickly went viral, prompting a surge of donations from well-meaning Nigerians, amounting to over N14 million.

In a gesture of further support, the Femi Otedola Foundation presented a cheque of N5 million to the family on Monday.

The cheque was handed over by Philip Akinola, a representative of the foundation.

Otedola, known for his consistent philanthropic efforts towards individuals in need and social causes, was moved to act after learning about the family’s situation.

In addition to the financial aid, Otedola has also offered scholarships for the Olayode’s two older children, ensuring that their education is secured despite the family’s increased financial burden.

Abiodun Olayode had  expressed her hopes for additional support from the government, particularly from Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu.

She emphasized the importance of education for her children and her unexpected circumstances, stating, “I planned for one, but here we are having four. The First Lady, I hope you are seeing this. Please come to my aid.”
