President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, have been lauded for their various interventionist programmes aimed at providing relief to vulnerable and poor Nigerians amid the prevailing economic hardships.

The commendation follows the presentation of hundreds of bags of rice, beans, and gari to community development councils (CDCs) across Lagos State.

The palliatives, intended to alleviate the suffering of the needy, were received by Pastor Olusegun Fayemi, Chairman of the Ojodu Community Development Committee (CDC) in the Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

During the presentation ceremony, which saw participation from CDA chairmen, women, and other community leaders within the CDC, Pastor Fayemi expressed profound appreciation to President Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu for their efforts in ensuring that palliatives reach the grassroots.

He lauded the synergy between federal and state governments in using CDC platforms for distribution.

In an interview with Persecondnews, Fayemi extolled Tinubu as a compassionate leader with a pro-poor disposition.

“President Tinubu is a father figure who deeply cares about the less privileged,” he said.

He also praised Governor Sanwo-Olu as a diligent and remarkable leader committed to the welfare of the masses.

“These palliatives are meant for the vulnerable,” Fayemi stated. “I hereby present them to the CDA chairmen, women, and other community leaders in the CDC for distribution.

“Women, being our mothers and wives, have unique outreach within the community that men cannot match. They should ensure these items reach the grassroots.”

Fayemi further commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for leveraging the CDCs, which are closest to the grassroots, for the distribution of palliatives.

He thanked the governor for the trust and confidence placed in the CDC leadership.

Moreover, Fayemi acknowledged Hon. David Olusegun Odunmbaku, Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, as a dynamic and visionary leader.

He noted Odunmbaku’s diligent work in providing health, education, and infrastructure improvements in the area.

Alhaja Bukky Badmus, the women’s leader in the area, also expressed gratitude to the federal and Lagos State governments for the food items.

She assured continued support for the administrations of President Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu.

“Our women will continue to rally support for our governor and Mr. President for more dividends of democracy,” Badmus pledged.
