A High-Level Peace and Reconciliation Committee of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, headed by the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, has been formed to address ongoing tensions between the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, as well as other conflicts in the Niger Delta.

The committee, formed during PANDEF’s recent Special General Assembly in Port Harcourt, has prominent leaders as Senator Emmanuel Ibok-Essien and Senator Stella Omu.

Spokesperson of the forum, Dr Obiuwevbi Ominimini, confirmed that the committee would work to resolve regional issues and restore peace.

The group called on all levels of government and local organizations to support PANDEF’s efforts, believing that the initiative would comprehensively address the sources of tension across the South-South geopolitical zone in the country.
