A pastor in Edo State has been arrested and publicly paraded by community members after being accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with a married woman.

PLATFORM TIMES reports that the  incident, was captured in several videos circulating online.

The pastor, whose identity was not disclosed at the time of filing this report, allegedly had an affair with a married female chorister, raising questions about his role in the community.

Unconfirmed reports claim the alleged relationship had lasted for 11 years, and that the pastor even officiated the woman’s wedding.

In one of the videos shared online, locals are seen confronting the pastor and accusing him of violating moral and religious codes.

He was subsequently brought before community leaders, where his alleged offence was addressed in the local dialect.

Following the confrontation, community members paraded the pastor through the streets in a bid to shame him.

Some of them carried musical instruments, singing derogatory songs as they marched alongside him.

The parade culminated in the pastor’s arrest, with police officers arriving at the scene to take him into custody.

A video from the scene shows the pastor being placed into a police van and driven away.

The incident has sparked a flurry of reactions online, with many condemning the pastor’s alleged actions and questioning the ethical standards of religious leaders.

At the time of this report, neither the pastor nor his church had issued an official statement regarding the allegations.
