The Senior Pastor of Kingsway International Christian Centre in London, Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo, has expressed grave concern over the escalating poverty and hunger plaguing the nation.

The cleric said this in a compelling message delivered at the 60th birthday celebration of the Founder and Lead Pastor of Victory Life Bible Church International, Apostle  Lawrence  Achudume.

Urging leaders to take immediate action, Pastor Ashimolowo warned of the impending danger posed by the widening gap between the affluent and the impoverished.

During his address in Abeokuta, Pastor Ashimolowo emphasized the urgent need for government intervention to address the rampant poverty gripping the populace.

He lamented the erosion of purchasing power due to hyperinflation, exacerbated by the dwindling fortunes of the national currency.

Citing the lyrics of Asha’s popular song, Pastor Ashimolowo painted a grim picture, declaring, “There is fire on the mountain,” stressing the urgency of the situation as a significant portion of the population goes to bed hungry.

Moreover, the esteemed preacher voiced his dismay at the deviation from the gospel of Christ within the body of Christ, questioning whether the teachings being practiced are authentic or counterfeit.

Describing Apostle Achudume as a beacon of goodness, Pastor Ashimolowo highlighted the marks of a good man, which include divine presence, intimacy with God, and a legacy of prosperity and wisdom.

He commended Apostle Achudume for embodying these qualities and urged continued support for his ministry.

Governor Umo Bassey Uno of Akwa Ibom State, represented by his Deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, lauded Apostle Achudume as a unifying force who champions righteousness and truth, even in dealings with those in positions of power.

Similarly, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, the wife of the Ogun State Governor, praised Apostle Achudume’s decades-long commitment to ministry and his positive impact on society.

Earlier, the Presiding Pastor, Citadel Global Community  Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare while eulogising the celebrant said he is  a respected and anointed man of God who must be supported.

He said : ” But for you, I won’t be here  physically. You did all so well and we  must celebrate  you. Thank you for keeping the flag flying and flying the banner of Christ. Welcome to the sixth floor and congratulations to you on your diamond age”.

The event also saw the launch of a biography titled “The Man Helped by God,” chronicling Apostle Achudume’s remarkable journey.

Dignitaries including former Governor Udom Emmanuel, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola, and former Speaker Dimeji Bankole graced the occasion, alongside a host of spiritual leaders who honored Apostle Achudume.

In his closing remarks, Apostle Achudume humbly attributed his success to divine assistance and expressed gratitude to his wife and supporters for their unwavering encouragement.

The celebration concluded with a grand reception, where attendees from near and far shared glowing tributes in honor of the distinguished celebrant.
