The Premium BreadMakers Association of Nigeria (PBAN) is taking proactive measures to combat the challenges faced by the baking industry in the midst of the country’s economic downturn.
PBAN, under the leadership of President Engineer Emmanuel Onuorah, is set to convene a crucial gathering of industry stakeholders on Thursday, November 9th, 2023, to devise solutions for the persistent issues plaguing bread production.
Engineer Onuorah announced that the event will be chaired by Mr. Boye Olusanya, the Group Managing Director (GMD) of Flour Mills Nigeria Plc, bringing together prominent figures and regulators from the baking industry.
These experts will dissect the root causes of the industry’s setbacks and propose necessary remedies.
In a significant development, Ms. Eva Edwards, Director in charge of Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (FSAN) at the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration Control (NAFDAC), will provide regulatory insights during the event.
The PBAN’s Day-Out theme, “Overcoming Baking Industry Challenges Under Harsh Economic Realities,” underscores the importance of addressing these pressing issues.
Industry experts have recently emphasized the need for government support to safeguard the Breadmaking Industry, given its pivotal role in ensuring food availability to the masses.
The PBAN’s Day-Out promises a diverse agenda, including a Bakers’ Exhibition, Networking opportunities, Interactive Sessions, and Entertainment.
This event marks the first step in a series of initiatives aimed at preserving the essential role of the Baking Industry in the nation’s food security.
