The Public Complaints Commission (PCC) has concluded a two-day intensive capacity-building training for its officers across the South-West, with a renewed push for ethical conduct, accountability and professionalism in public sector investigations.
The training, themed “Ethics, Accountability and Integrity in Public Sector Investigation,” was held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and formally declared open on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, by the Ogun State Federal Commissioner of the Commission, Hon. Morakinyo OgoOluwa Akinleye.
In his address, Akinleye stressed that the Commission’s mandate requires staff to demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and professionalism, especially in handling complaints, investigations and administrative justice.
He said strengthening staff capacity remained central to improving public trust, adding that “our officers must consistently uphold ethical values, transparency, and fairness while discharging their duties.”
A presentation on the Commission’s vision, mission and purpose reinforced PCC’s commitment to promoting administrative justice, fairness, transparency, human dignity and public trust.
Broad Curriculum on Ethics, Cybersecurity and Investigation
The training featured expert-led sessions on:
Ethics, accountability and integrity in public sector investigations
Service delivery standards
Whistleblower protection and witness management
Confidentiality and information-handling protocols
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) techniques
Interview standards, mediation and conflict resolution
Investigative reporting and documentation
Cybersecurity, safe internet practices and cyber hygiene
Resource persons from Skytech Analytics Nigeria Limited — Mr. Adeniran, Adebisi Dave, and Sup. Jemiri Eyitayo Olufemi — delivered practical sessions on digital security and investigative processes.
Participants drawn from PCC offices across the South-West described the training as timely and essential for improving professionalism in handling public complaints. They highlighted its relevance to investigative reporting, case management, confidentiality, ADR, mediation, and cybersecurity.
The programme ended with closing remarks from Hon. Akinleye and the Director of Administration, PCC , Abuja, Mr. S. B. Karatu, after which Headquarterscertificates of participation were presented to attendees.
