PDP Chieftain Predicts Tinubu’s Eight-Year Rule

A  prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Daniel Bwala, has predicted that without a united front among opposition parties, President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are  poised to serve two consecutive terms, spanning eight years.

Bwala warned that such a coalition is crucial to unseating Tinubu and the ruling APC.

He however disclosed that opposition parties are gearing up to forge a robust coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Bwala said this while appearing on Channels Television.

He expressed confidence in the strength of the forthcoming coalition, predicting it would absorb elements causing internal strife within political parties.

Bwala accused Tinubu of instigating conflicts within opposition parties, citing specific instances within the Labour Party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Shifting focus to the crisis in oil-rich Rivers State, Bwala addressed the reported discord between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who now holds a ministerial position in the APC-led Federal Government. Recently, 27 lawmakers loyal to Wike defected to the APC, prompting the PDP to demand their resignation.

President Tinubu intervened by meeting with stakeholders from Rivers State, including Fubara, Wike, and former governor Peter Odili.

Among the recommendations was allowing the defected lawmakers to retain their positions in the House of Assembly.

Bwala, offering a prediction, suggested that Governor Fubara might face removal from office, claiming that he had unknowingly walked into a trap.

Although Bwala did not specify who set the trap, he called for prayers for the governor, concluding with a remark on the unpredictable situation in Rivers State.
