    Pelican Valley Visits Family Of Late Ogun Journalist, Com Adewunmi

    A top – notch real estate entrepreneur and philanthropist, Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo, has revved up the scale of his support for the family of late Ogun State journalist, Com. Wale Adewunmi, with a commitment to provide free medicare to them for the next 12 months.

    Adeyemo who had earlier pledged to shoulder the burden of providing education to late Adewunmi’s first child, the 16 – year old Miss Mokeseoluwa, upto the university level, also placed the widow, Mrs Titilope Adewunmi, on a stipend of N25K for the next six months.

    The philanthropist who is equally the the CEO of a foremost Nigerian real estate firm – Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, behind the Pelican Valley Estate Laderin, Abeokuta as well as the Pelican Brief Estate, Pelican Ecostay Apartments and Pelican’s Greenish Acre Farm Estate at the Kobape corridor of the state, made this known on Sunday evening, July 7, when he paid a condolence visit to the family at their Obantoko residence in Abeokuta.

    Adeyemo said the philanthropic gestures would be executed through the auspices of the Oko Opo Foundation, a charitable organisation that was established to support the widows, children and the downtrodden members of society.

    Adeyemo who was accompanied by some members of the management and Directors of the Oko Opo Foundation, including his wife, Mrs Titilayo Adeyemo, also provided food items to the family.

    He urged the widow not to despair much over the demise of her beloved husband and father of her children, encouraging her to take solace in the faith that the departed journalist would find eternal peace in the Lord.

    He described the deceased as an enterprising journalist, a loving husband and a caring father to his wife and beautiful children.

    In her remarks, Mrs Adewunmi who was more than marvelled at the immense support from the unexpected direction, expressed profound gratitude to Ambassador Adeyemo and his family for taking up the responsibility to wipe their tears away and for offering them a rare opportunity to look on to the future with hope.

    She prayed for blessings and protection of God upon him, his family and businesses.

    Saga Gist reports that Comrade Wale Adewunmi, who until his death was a member of the Correspondent Chapel, of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun state council, a chapel he once led as Chairman, died on Monday July 1, after battling with illness and despite undergoing surgery with the support of council members.

    He was committed to the mother earth in Abeokuta on Friday, July 5 by family members, relatives and colleagues in the journalism profession and the Ogun NUJ.
