    Pelican Valley Visits Gyamfi’s Family, Describes Late Journalist As a Leader, Mentor In Journalism Profession

    Pelican Valley CEO, Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo, has paid a condolence visit to the family of ex – Correspondent of The Guardian Newspaper and member of the Ogun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ),  late Mr. Charles Gyamfi, pledging to support his widow with monthly stipend and free medical care for 12 months.
    Also, aside from personal donation in his capacity as the firm’s CEO, his humanitarian foundation, Oko-Opo Foundation, also donated and supported the family with food items to help lessen the burden of domestic and burial expenses.
    He expressed sadness over the passing of Mr Gyamfi, praising his indelible roles as a “leader and mentor to many in the journalism profession.”
    While comforting the loved ones the ex – Guardian Correspondent left behind, especially his 62 – year – old widow, Mrs Gifty Gyamfi, the real estate entrepreneur urged them not to grieve much over the painful loss but to take solace in the fact that their departed breadwinner “lived a fulfilled life.”
    He particularly urged the matriarch of the Gyamfi family to be strong so as to be able to hold the home intact, saying that would be the best way to  honour the departed septuagenarian journalist and keep his legacy indelible.
    He also signed the condolence register, stating:”Baba was a peace loving man of virtue and role model to all of us. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
    Adeyemo was accompanied to the Abeokuta residence of late Gyamfi by members of the Pelican Valley team as well as his friend, Mr. Kunle Olayeni, who is an ex – chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Ogun NUJ where Mr Gyamfi until his demise, was also a member.
    He prayed to God to comfort the family.
    Speaking on behalf of the family which was full of gratitude to Pelican Valley and the CEO for the unquantifiable support, Mr Albert Yartey, said the interventions would remain as an indelible memory to them.
    Yartey revealed that before his death, Charles Gyamfi had left an irrevocable instruction  regarding where his final resting place should be, assuring that the family would respect the late journalist’s wish and abide by it.
