PIDOMNIGERIA: ‘Stop acting like military ruler’ – Adeyanju tells Tinubu

Activist lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of acting like a military regime.

Adeyanju made the remark while recounting how Tinubu and former President Muhammadu Buhari led protests in the past.

His comment followed the disappearance of an undercover journalist and whistle-blower, Bristol Isaac Tamunobiefiri, popularly known as PIDOMNIGERIA.

Prior to his arrest, PIDOM leaked sensitive documents from both federal and state governments.

But, the undercover journalist went missing after the 10 days nationwide protest, which he also promoted via his handle on X.

The Nigeria Police Force, however, confirmed the arrest of PIDOM in a hotel room in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Force Spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said PIDOM was nabbed over serious offences that undermine the integrity of government operations.

However, the lawyer pointed out that PIDOM committed no crime to warrant his disappearance.

Posting on X, Adeyanju wrote: “All the protesters arrested committed no crime. A civilian government acting like a military regime. Why can’t a civilian government just respect citizen’s rights? Tinubu and Buhari once called for a revolution. Pidom committed no crime.

“Pidom did nothing wrong. Journalism is not a crime. Go after bandits & terrorists you cowards.

“Pidom has not done anything wrong whatsoever to be arrested. Journalism is not a crime. The government must stop criminalizing dissent. And, we are excited to see the charges against him.”
