The officers of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a suspected bus thief, Ahmed Ayinde, during an attempt to sell a stolen bus in the Mushin area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Tuesday.

Hundeyin stated that a resident, who suspected that the bus must have been stolen, contacted the police who stormed the scene.

He said: “Police officers were alerted when the suspect attempted to sell a Suzuki minibus popularly called ‘Korope’ with registration number EKY 902 YA without document.

“The suspect was arrested and the exhibit recovered.”

The police spokesman said an investigation revealed that the suspect stole the vehicle from the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos.

Hundeyin, therefore, called on the owner of the minibus to come with valid proof of ownership to claim the vehicle.
