The Benue State Police Command on Saturday, was reported to have killed eight suspected bandits in a gun battle.
This incident happened on Saturday.
The report which stated that ” members of a militia gang who invaded Akpuna village in the Ukum Local Government Area, Benue state, at about 12pm, were shooting sporadically.”
However, some teams of police in collaboration with other security agencies were said to have rushed to the area and engaged these bandits in a gun shot and they were able to repel the bandits.
The Police said eight corpses were recovered at the scene while many other injured persons were taken to hospital for treatment.
However, a police source disclosed that operation is ongoing in the area.
