In a grim turn of events, the  State Police Command has raised the alarm over  the discovery of  a fresh abandoned corpse in the Kadesh area of Ogijo, Ogun State.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that  the discovery of an abandoned corpse occured around  15:30 pm on Sunday.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Omolola Odutola disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

Odutola said eyewitnesses, disturbed by the unusual sight of a tricycle (“keke”) navigating an unconventional route, raised an alarm, prompting a loud shout that reverberated through the community.

She added that before they could fully investigate their suspicions, the onlookers were met with the chilling sight of a lifeless body.

Odutola explained further that the culprits, however, managed to slip away, leaving the villagers trailing behind despite earnest efforts to apprehend them

According to her, responding swiftly to the report, detectives from the Ogijo Division were dispatched to the scene, where they uncovered the fresh corpse of a young male adult, believed to be approximately 24 years old.

She said the victim’s identity remains elusive, adding a layer of mystery to the tragic incident.

“Based on the report, detectives from the Ogijo Division were dispatched to the scene, where they discovered the fresh body of a young male adult, estimated to be around 24 years old.

The victim’s personal information has not yet been ascertained.

“The corpse was found in an isolated bush, and the area was immediately cordoned off.

The Police promptly evacuated the body and transferred it to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital Mortuary in Sagamu.

“No one has reported a missing person fitting the description, and no family member have come forward to file a complain of a missing person.

“In the meantime, the police have launched an active investigation to identify the culprits behind this heinous act.

“The Ogun State Police Command remain supportive and committed to ensuring that such act of cruelty and brutal inhumanity is nipped in the bud.”
