The Nigerian Police Force has summoned senior officers, including Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Idowu Omohunwa, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Simon Lough, and other high-ranking officials, to appear before the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) as part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of age falsification.
A police source revealed that the summons, issued on Friday by the Force Secretary’s office, relates to the investigation into claims of age forgery involving the officers.
In the memo, police commissioners Adepoju Olugbena Adewole, Aina Emmanuel, and Salami Wakili were also ordered to appear before the disciplinary panel.
They are to present themselves at the Force Headquarters in Abuja between Monday and Wednesday next week.
Additionally, Assistant Inspector General of Police Benneth Igweh, alongside Omohunwa and Lough, has been directed to attend the disciplinary proceedings.
The memo emphasized that the officers are expected to appear in their standard daily dress code and treat the directive with utmost seriousness.
The ongoing probe marks a significant step as the Force moves to address the grave issue of age falsification among its senior officers.
