Ibrahim Owodunni, popularly known as Primeboy, has voluntarily turned himself in to the police in connection to the investigation into the death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.
The development was officially announced by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, in a statement released on Thursday.
Primeboy’s surrender follows his earlier declaration as a wanted individual by the Lagos State Police Command in the ongoing probe into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s tragic death on September 12.
In response to Primeboy’s surrender, he has been promptly taken into custody for questioning and further necessary actions.
The Lagos State Police Command has reiterated its unwavering commitment to conduct a thorough and diligent investigation, vowing to leave no stone unturned.
The statement from Benjamin Hundeyin also reaffirmed the commitment of the police to bring all those found culpable in Mr. Ilerioluwa Aloba’s death to justice.
This development comes after a series of public outcry and nationwide protests, which led to the invitation of various individuals, including Afrobeats artist Naira Marley and music promoter Sam Larry, for questioning in the ongoing investigation.
Previously, Primeboy had been declared wanted, and a reward of N1 million had been offered for information aiding his arrest.
His voluntary surrender marks a significant development in the case as authorities work to unravel the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely demise.
