Residents of several communities in Remo North, Ogun State, have heaved a sigh of relief following the intervention of their representative in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Kolawole Dickson Awolaja, who has spearheaded efforts to restore electricity after prolonged blackouts.
For months, communities across the constituency grappled with power outages caused by faulty transformers and damaged electrical infrastructure, crippling businesses and daily life.
However, Hon. Awolaja, leveraging his position as Chairman of the House Committee on Community and Cooperative Society and Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy, stepped in to address these challenges head-on.
One of the most pressing cases was in Obalende, Isara Remo, where residents endured darkness due to a malfunctioning transformer. Recognizing the urgency, Hon. Awolaja mobilized resources to ensure swift repairs, restoring electricity to the area.
Similarly, in Ode Remo, the lawmaker played a crucial role in bringing power back to Oke Ola, Orita Mafoon/Oke Ikanna axis, and Larufin Community by facilitating the repair of three transformers.
The intervention revitalized businesses and social activities that had been disrupted by the blackout.
Beyond repairs, Hon. Awolaja has also championed new electrification projects. In Ajigbotifa, Isara Remo, he provided financial support to ensure the proper installation and energization of a new transformer donated by Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, ensuring the community could finally enjoy stable electricity.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that his latest intervention in Ijabata Ward 2, Isara Remo, where a faulty feeder pillar had left residents in darkness for nearly a month, further underscores his commitment to grassroots development.
