    Redeemer’s University Produces 44 First Class Honours Graduates

    In a remarkable display of academic excellence, Redeemer’s University in Ede, Osun State, celebrated the accomplishments of its graduating students as 44 of them achieved First Class Honours.

     

    During a press conference held on Monday, September 4, 2023, the Vice-Chancellor of Redeemer’s University, Prof. Anthony Akinlo, shared the impressive statistics of the graduating class. 

     

    Among the graduates, 290 students secured Second Class (Upper Division), constituting 38.7 per cent, while 264 earned Second Class (Lower Division), representing 35.2 per cent.

     

    The report further highlighted that 74 graduating students received Third Class honours, amounting to 9.8 per cent, and three students attained a Pass, making up 0.4 per cent of the cohort.

     

    In a noteworthy development, three students specializing in Nursing Sciences and Physiotherapy achieved a Pass with Distinction, alongside 58 students who received a Pass with Credit, together comprising 7.7 per cent of the graduates. Six students accomplished a Pass, accounting for 0.8 per cent of the total.

     

    In the Diploma category, three students received Upper Credit Division (0.4 per cent), and five attained Lower Credit Division (0.7 per cent).

     

    Prof. Akinlo also highlighted the university’s achievements, noting that Redeemer’s University has graduated 6,995 students since its inception, with 750 students set to receive degrees during the current convocation ceremony.

     

    The Vice-Chancellor proudly announced the university’s expansion of academic programs from 26 to 54, with 32 programs fully accredited and five receiving interim accreditation.

     

    Additionally, Akinlo recognized the significant contributions of the institution’s African Centre of Excellence for the Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID) in combating infectious diseases and addressing public health challenges.

     

    In closing, Prof. Akinlo expressed gratitude to Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), who serves as the Visitor to Redeemer’s University, for his unwavering support in advancing the university’s development and success.
