A member of the House of Representatives, Yusuf Gadgi, has vehemently rejected claims that Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, holds a remote control over his principal’s decisions.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today program, Gadgi, representing the Pankshin/Kanke/ Federal Constituency of Plateau State, refuted criticisms of Gbajabiamila’s alleged sway over the administration, asserting that such accusations are unjust, as they fail to account for the challenges inherent in Gbajabiamila’s role.
Addressing skeptics of the Chief of Staff, Gadgi argued that detractors underestimate Tinubu’s political acumen and experience, overlooking the fact that he entered office well-prepared and is far from being solely influenced by Gbajabiamila.
He highlighted Tinubu’s impressive political history, including his time as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, his tenure as a two-term governor in the challenging landscape of Lagos, and his diverse political accomplishments.
Gadgi emphasized, “To suggest that the Chief of Staff has an exclusive hold on the President’s decisions is a disservice to President Tinubu’s extensive political journey.
We possess a President who possesses a clear understanding of right versus wrong, someone who is attuned to the best interests of Nigerians.
President Tinubu’s readiness and clarity of purpose are evident from the outset.”
In a resolute tone, Gadgi asserted that the notion of someone remote-controlling the President’s actions is unfounded at this level of leadership, declaring,
“We are dealing with a President who is not influenced in such a manner. President Tinubu’s independence of thought and action is unquestionable.”
