In a startling turn of events, a “repentant” Boko Haram terrorist who had been reintegrated into the Bama Community in Borno State has been apprehended.

The suspected was said to have been arrested on his way to the notorious Sambisa Forest.

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that from the twitter handle of a counter-insurgency publication, Zagazola Makama on Friday.

According to the statement, the suspect was arrested alongside two collaborators who were caught red-handed attempting to supply crucial logistics to the Boko Haram terror group at Barraram Village, also known as Daula Market.

The statement read “these three individuals, who were living within the Bama community, had reportedly been providing a range of support to the terrorists.

“Their assistance included furnishing the group with essential resources like food items, fuel, motorcycle tubes, tires, and various other logistical supplies.”

PLATFORM TIMES reports that, notably, Bama town has experienced a concerning number of instances involving “repentant” individuals collaborating with the terrorists against Nigerian Army troops.

This latest incident once again highlights the challenges of reintegrating former terrorists and the need for enhanced vigilance to prevent such occurrences.

According to a publication focused on counter-insurgency efforts, the suspect, was apprehended alongside two other collaborators at Barraram Village, which is also referred to as Daula Market.

The publication underscored the fact that these three “repentant” terrorists, despite their supposed change of allegiance, were actively involved in providing significant support to the terrorist group.

The report stressed the urgent need to address the issue of “repentant” individuals collaborating with terrorists, particularly in Bama town.

These incidents pose a grave threat to the Nigerian Army’s efforts against the terror group and highlight the importance of stringent monitoring and reintegration protocols.
