    Daud Olatunji

In a chilling turn of events, Musa Dauda, a former member of the Boko Haram terrorist group who claimed to have repented, has been apprehended by the Borno State Police Command for the alleged murder of his ex-wife, Hafsat Musa, on a farm within the confines of Muhammed Goni Stadium in Maiduguri, the state’s capital.

The startling revelation was made public by ASP Sani Kamilu, the spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command.

Kamilu disclosed that Dauda had invited 45-year-old Hafsat to the farm on September 12, where the gruesome incident occurred.

Tragically, Hafsat went missing after accepting the invitation, and it wasn’t until a few days later that her decomposing body was discovered by her relatives on the farm. Astonishingly, the incident had not been reported to the police until then.

The swift response of law enforcement was evident as they immediately visited the crime scene, recovering Hafsat’s remains and transporting them to the Umaru Shehu Ultramodern Hospital in Maiduguri for a thorough autopsy.

According to Kamilu, Musa Dauda was taken into custody on Thursday, September 21, and shockingly, he confessed to the heinous crime.

Dauda’s harrowing admission revealed that he had spotted Hafsat with another individual on the farm, leading him to strike her on the head with a hoe, resulting in her tragic demise.

Following the murder, he proceeded to bury her lifeless body on the same farm before fleeing the scene.

As the investigation unfolds, the police spokesperson has indicated that Dauda will face legal proceedings in court for his alleged role in this appalling crime.
