Restore Fuel Subsidy, Stop Hunger – Arch Bishop Hezekiah Tells Tinubu

The Archbishop of Living Christ Mission, Most Rev. Prof Daddy Hezekiah has appealed to the federal government to wake up and tackle the current economic realities which he said have imposed untold hardship on Nigerians.

The man of God made the appeal during a church service to mark this year’s Father’s Day anniversary and international pastors conference at the Administrative Headquarters of the church in Onitsha, Anambra State.

He said one of the ways to ameliorate the devastating hunger in the land is to restore fuel subsidy to cushion the effect of high-priced commodities and other goods and services.

Archbishop Hezekiah also urged President Tinubu to reconsider its decision to ban the single use of plastics in government offices as a prelude to a nationwide ban set to begin in January 2025, a move that he said could stir a storm in a country hugely dependent on plastic bottles, small water sachets, take away containers and Styrofoam as announced by the Minister of State for Environment.

He described the move as an anti-people policy that would further increase the sufferings of the masses, “Polythene bags do not destroy Nigeria but corruption, perversion of justice, rigging of elections and oppressions. Banning polythene bags and changing of National Anthem is not the nation’s priority”

He regretted that Nigeria is in the hands of leaders who do not have solutions to her problems, ” The country is in bondage and fearful situation and needs positive policies as rigging of election, injustice and other evil vices are haunting the country” he said.

He, however, enjoined Nigerians to resist the temptation of anything capable of causing war pointing out that war is never the solution to the nation’s problems but seeking the face of God through prayers is the only way out.

Hezekiah further enjoined Christians to live righteously as God is ever near to those who live spiritually, saying there is no condemnation against those in Christ Jesus, who walk in the spirit.
