Two suspects arrested in connection with the abduction of Folasade Odumosu, wife of retired AIG Hakeem Odumosu, have disclosed that she was hidden in the bush behind her residence for over one week.
The suspects, 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, detailed their operation, confirming Mrs Odumosu was held captive for nine days.
The suspects also confirmed PLATFORM TIMES exclusively report that they demanded a sum of N40m as ransom.
PLATFORM TIMES had reported that the abduction took place at the entrance of her residence in Arepo, Owode Local Government Area, Ogun State, where armed assailants forcefully seized her from her Lexus SUV.
The suspect said after she was dragged through a swampy area to an undisclosed location, Mrs Odumosu was kept hidden among palm trees while they demanded a staggering N40 million ransom.
They added that the family paid N20 million for her release.
During a police parade, one of the apprehended suspects confessed, “We hid her at the back of her house.
“There are plenty of palm trees there. If someone hides there, you cannot see the person.”
When paraded, one of the suspects said, “One man gave us the job, I don’t know his name. Four of us plus one other I don’t know were involved, so we are five. We went there with three guns but they were locally-made ones.
“We took her to the bush behind her house; there are many palm trees there. We kept her for like one week and two days. We demanded N40 million and they paid N20 million.
“We shared the money and I collected N4.25 million and my ‘brothers’ (gang members) also collected that amount. One of us knows the man who gave us the job.”
“We hid her at the back of her house. There are plenty palm trees there. If someone hides there, you cannot see the person,” the other suspect said.
