The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has cancelled his scheduled engagement with over 2,000 youths in honour of the victims of a tragic accident in the State.
The accident involved a train and a Lagos State Staff Bus in Ikeja on Thursday.

The accident resulted in the death of six persons with several others left severely injured.
The Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr Segun Dawudu, disclosed the cancellation of the event, which was tagged “Youth timeout with the governor,” at the Point View Event Centre in Ikeja, where the meeting was to take place.
Dawudu stated the event would be rescheduled for next week while addressing the youths who were already present at the venue to go home.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu was visiting the injured persons in the hospital and could not make it to the programme” he added.
Dawudu expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and assured the state government’s commitment to providing necessary support to the injured.
He also implored all Lagosians to pray for the departed souls, and some of the youths present were urged to donate blood to the injured at the Gbagada General Hospital and Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja.
