In what promises to be a significant event, the inauguration of the South West Zonal Command and the decoration of Officers and Honorees of the International Fellowship of Christian Chaplains is set to take place on April 12, 2024, at the NSCDC College of Security Management in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

High-profile guests, including Ogun State security Chiefs Commissioners of Police CP Abiodun Alamutu, Commandant Dr. Soji Ganzallo of the Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So Safe), Commandant Ojelabi Ìdòwú of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Commander Seni Ogunyemi of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), among others, are expected to grace the occasion.

The event marks the culmination of the training of Chaplains officers, which commenced a few days ago.

It will feature a grand finale and the decoration ceremony, scheduled to begin promptly at 11 a.m.

Chaplains Olumuyiwa Samuel, the convener of the event, shed light on the vision and objectives of the International Fellowship of Christian Chaplains Incorporated (IFCCI), known globally as the chaplaincy forum.

IFCCI aims to integrate Christian chaplains, clinical educators, spiritual scientists, theologians, scholars, and professionals, fostering collaboration and excellence in service delivery.

Speaking on the selection of the security chiefs as guests of honour, Chaplain Olumuyiwa Samuel emphasised their outstanding security expertise and dedication to ensuring the safety of lives and properties in Ogun State.

He highlighted the significance of this program, being the first of its kind in the state and the sixth at the national level. Moreover, IFCCI’s impact extends beyond Nigeria, with a presence in other African countries such as Malawi, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Benin Republic, and others.

The core mission behind IFCCI’s initiative, as emphasised by Chaplain Olumuyiwa Samuel, is to empower Christian chaplains with essential security ethics, spiritual guidance, and a commitment to reducing human suffering.

Through their presence and service, chaplains aim to be a beacon of hope and support for the vulnerable in society.
