Senator Lawal Adamu Blasts Critics, Boasts of ‘Unprecedented’ Achievements In Kaduna Central

Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has come down hard on a group identified as the Kaduna Central Movement for Development (KCMD) over allegations of non-performance, describing the group’s threat to mobilise against his re-election in 2027 as “laughable” and “infantile.”

In a strongly worded statement issued through his Media and Publicity Office on Tuesday, the lawmaker dismissed the KCMD as a “faceless group” engaged in spreading “shameless lies,” insisting that he has redefined the political landscape of Kaduna Central with “unprecedented developments” in less than two years in office.

Usman, popularly known as Senator LA, said his achievements speak for themselves, adding that his tenure has brought substantial relief to the constituents who were, in his words, “previously saddled with misfits” in the National Assembly.

“At the risk of sounding immodest, Kaduna Central, which had suffered years of misrepresentation, is now witnessing real dividends of democracy,” the statement read.

“The people continue to hail Senator LA’s initiatives, which have directly impacted thousands of lives.”

Listing his accomplishments, the Senator’s office cited the construction of 100 smart primary schools equipped with modern facilities, installation of over 200 electricity transformers, provision of potable water through boreholes, and deployment of solar-powered lights across the seven local government areas under his district.

Other interventions include the sponsorship of hundreds of students for WAEC and UTME exams, scholarships worth hundreds of millions of naira, business start-up support for 500 youths, and skills acquisition training for over 1,000 constituents in areas such as soap making and fish farming.

“In a demonstration of commitment to education, Senator LA has disbursed between N100,000 and N150,000 as bursary allowances to more than 200 students studying Humanities and Sciences, part of a broader N500 million fund earmarked for tuition support,” the statement added.

The Senator also revealed ongoing plans to construct over 20,000 kilometres of roads across his senatorial zone to boost connectivity and ease transportation.

On the legislative front, the statement highlighted Senator Usman’s successful motion pushing for the expedited reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway, which received unanimous Senate approval. It also mentioned four additional motions and four bills currently at the third reading stage.

Describing the KCMD’s accusations as a failed attempt to “cover up the monumental failure” of their sponsors, the Senator’s office stated, “These political jobbers are intoxicated by the crumbs they get from their paymasters, and their baseless allegations reflect a deep-rooted desperation.”

Senator Usman, who was elected in 2023, reaffirmed his commitment to delivering more democratic dividends, vowing not to be distracted by “jobless hirelings masquerading as advocacy groups.”
