PLATFORM TIMES reports that the honours come as part of the camp’s efforts to foster a love for reading among children.

A statement released  by Founder and Coordinator of The SixthSense Initiative, Abiodun Lasile  to PLATFORM TIMES stated that the  camp, which officially opened on Sunday, August 4th, will run until Saturday, August 10th, 2024.

The statement further stated that the   opening ceremony, held on Monday, August 5th, at the BGC Idi-Aba in Abeokuta, was a resounding success.

It read that the  event featured an engaging 120-minute programme that exceeded all expectations.

Lasile emphasized the camp’s mission to cultivate a supportive environment where children can develop their literacy skills.

Lasile noted the overwhelming response and enthusiasm from participants this year.

“This Thursday, August 8th, the camp will host its official party day, celebrating two distinguished individuals who have supported the initiative: HRM Oba Prof Saka Matemilola FNSE Otileta VII Olowu Oluyalo of Owu Kingdom, Abeokuta, and Nobel Laureate Professor Akinwande Oluwole Soyinka, who serves as the camp’s ambassador,” the statement read.

“Her Excellency Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Executive Governor of Ogun State, will be the Special Guest of Honour.

“The celebration will feature various activities, including readings, performances, and awards. Guests are invited to join the festivities, which will commence at 2:45 pm.
