Governor of Ogun State ,Dapo Abiodun has been struck by a serious sleepless night fever in a bid to get re elected as the landlord of the seat if power, Oke-Mosan,
No thanks to his predecessor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who had been touring the wards in the state leading the campaign for the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress,Biyi Otegbeye.
Amosun who is a member of the All Progressives Congress had vowed to scuttle the second term ambition of Abiodun a candidate of the APC.
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that plethoral of promises were being churned out by the embattled governor as he moves to the length and breath of the state, canvassing votes .
PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that some surveys from independent bodies and firms have predicted possible defeat of the governor at the poll.
PLATFORM TIMES also gathered that the governor had shunned his sycophants among his aides and requested for an honest assessment of his government.
The governor was also told the truth of his unpopularity as well as lack of acceptance from the people .
While a few individuals and bodies consulted by the governor reportedly hinted him of dicey victory, others told him the disaster that is looming around his neck at the poll.
PLATFORM TIMES observed that despite that the governor flaunts his performance which include construction of 400 roads,establishment of Agro-Cargo Airport among others , some people were hell bent to show him the exit at the poll.
The recommendations from the consultants advised the governor to urgently take some steps to avert his looming downfall at the poll.
PLATFORM TIMES further gathered that the governor was advised to do whatever he could to lure the stakeholders in Ogun central Senatorial District ahead of March 11as the major condition of his victory .
Sources hinted PLATFORM TIMES that the governor has been acting the script on how to get re elected which include getting endorsement of some politicians in the central .
Within the last few weeks, many groups and individuals have been wooed to throw their support behind the governor’s second term .
PLATFORM TIMES gathered that some transport unions were ordered to publicly announce their endorsement .
Pensioners were also lured with promise of increment of pension from N5,000 to N15,000 and a quarter payment jerked up to N1 billion .
Some parents were also assembled to endorse Abiodun with the promise of dripping some money into their accounts.
Few days after, no one has received any token as promised by the governor .
A source said ” if you observe in the last two /three weeks ,you will know that the governor had been moving into the areas believe to be no-go-areas before .
” He has got the endorsement of teachers in the state , he has got some Kashamu faction of the PDP, he has got some (Ibikunle) Amosun men who include Kola Lawal into his camp.
“The governor was told the truth about how he stood at the poll. He was not popular at all , he was being deceived by his people . He later knew and consulted those who will tell him the truth.”
The source however said , the chance of the governor has improved . I can tell you now that ,if the election is held today, Abiodun will win with wide margin.”
Meanwhile, PLATFORM TIMES observed that many groups and individuals were taking advantage of the desperation of the governor to cash out from the sitiasion .
