He added, “These are the kind of things that have been a clog in the wheel in the past, and we are ensuring that we fast-track these processes so as to also ensure that the reforms reflect who we are.”
In terms of transportation and environmental initiatives, Governor Abiodun announced the launch of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) enabled Mass Transit and collaboration with other states to adopt similar strategies.
He said that this allows buses to charge pre-subsidy removal prices and promotes a green revolution and climate change sensitivity.
Abiodun added that regarding infrastructure, the South-West governors, including Lagos and Oyo, are planning to illuminate the entire Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and provide internet facilities.
According to him, they are also considering the deployment of drones for enhanced security.
Otunba Ashiru, the Group Chairman of Oodua Investment Company, praised the governors for appointing capable individuals to the company’s boards and emphasized the importance of diversification.
He revealed that the company has secured a license for a marginal field and is on the verge of becoming an oil-producing organization in Nigeria.
Ashiru also mentioned a joint venture with international hoteliers to increase the number of rooms in Premier Hotel and a Chinese company’s interest in investing in the power sector of the South West with a focus on 1000 megawatts per state in the region.
The transformation of Oodua Investment Company under the guidance of the South-West governors, particularly Governor Dapo Abiodun, marks a significant step towards improved economic growth and development in the region.
