A 49-year-old woman, Victoria Idowu, reportedly hanged herself on a ceiling fan in her residence in the Magboro area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State on Sunday.
The grim discovery was made by her son upon his return from a church service, prompting him to raise the alarm.

Omolola Odutola, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the distressing news, emphasizing that no suicide note was found at the scene. Law enforcement officers from the Ibafo Division were dispatched to investigate further.
Odutola expressed the urgency of providing support to individuals grappling with mental health challenges, urging the public to be vigilant and compassionate towards their loved ones.
PLATFORM TIMES observed that a similar incident had occurred on February 6, where a 400-level female student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Adaze Jaja, reportedly took her own life.
When contacted, Odutola confirmed the unfortunate demise of the 31-year-old, who was discovered unconscious in a hotel room, with an empty bottle of insecticide beside her.
