The Sultan of Sokoto and Chairman of the Northern Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Emir of Gusau, Dr. Ibrahim Bello.
The Emir passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
In a condolence message released by his Media Team on Saturday, the Sultan extended heartfelt sympathies to the government of Zamfara State, the Gusau Emirate, and the late Emir’s family.
Describing the late monarch as a devoted traditional ruler, the Sultan said Emir Bello worked tirelessly to promote the welfare and security of his people and maintained strong collaboration with both state and local authorities.
He said the Emir’s death was a great loss to the Muslim community in Nigeria, noting that his support for peace and unity initiatives was commendable.
“In the late Emir, we have lost a brother, a leader, and a friend,” the Sultan said. “We pray that Allah forgives him all his sins and grants him Al-Jannah Firdaus. Ameen.”
