Super Eagles: Stop searching for foreign coach – NFF told to continue with Eguavoen

Former Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye, has urged the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to continue with Austin Eguavoen as the head coach of the national team.

Ibitoye made the plea following Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifier goalless draw with Rwanda on Tuesday.

According to him, the NFF should stop searching for a foreign coach to manage the Super Eagles at the moment and allow Eguavoen to continue as manager of the team.

Recall that the NFF had appointed Eguavoen as caretaker coach of the Super Eagles after German tactician Bruno Labbadia walked out on the Super Eagles after he was appointed head coach of the team.

“Dear @thenff, Please keep your search for a foreign coach for the @NGSuperEagles in the cooler for a bit longer,” Ibitoye wrote on X.

“Let’s buy some time. Let’s see what @coacheguavoen and the team will cook for us in October and maybe in November #SoarSuperEagles.”
