The governor of Taraba state, Agbu Kefas has declared free education throughout the state for primary and secondary school students.
Kefas disclosed this on Friday, at the Ebenezer Primary School in Wukari, Taraba State.
The governor said that the development came up to subdue the hardship of the removal of fuel subsidy.
He added that it is one of his campaign promises to be fulfilled, adding that it’s the government’s responsibility to bear students’ expenses.
He therefore said that the declaration would be effective starting from the next academic session of primary and secondary education in the state.
He also emphasized and warned that the students should not be subjected to any fee.
