The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has dared the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dr. Iyorchia Ayu to brace up for more confrontations from him.
Wike accused Ayu of bribery describing the chairman as incompetent.
PLATFORMTIMES had reported that Ayu was suspended on Sunday by the Executive of the party at his ward in Benue State for alleged anti party activities.
The suspension was announced by the PDP Ward Executives of his Igyorov Ward, through a press statement for what was termed ‘abysmal performance’ for the party.
Wike who made the dare on Monday during the commissioning of a remodeled community secondary school, Okoro Nu Odo, in Rivers stated that Ayu was suspended because of poor performance for the party.
PLATFORMTIMES recalls that Wike has been at loggerheads with Ayu since the the primary election in 2022.
Wike alleged that Ayu pocketed N1.1bn realised by the party from the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for the primaries.
The feud escalated after Wike lost the Presidential primaries and began calling for Ayu’s resignation as party chairman.
Wike in his latest outburst alleged that Ayu was unable to deliver his polling unit, ward and local government during the election because he collected bribe.
“To deliver during election you took bribe and lost in your unit, you lost in your ward, lost in your local government, lost in your State”.
”We delivered our State, we won the 3 senates, we won 11 house of representatives, we won 32 house of Assembly, ask those who want to be chairman of this party what they have to offer the party now.”
The governor said he is ready to put up a fight with Ayu who has suspended those who worked hard for PDP.
“Those of you fighting that they have suspend Ayu haven’t seen anything yet, the fight has just started. I thank God when we told him to sign he refused because if he had resigned it would have been an excuse for the poor performance of the party during the election. People would have said if Ayu was there he would have done better. I thank God Ayu was there and he failed.
“Ayu who is the native doctor of anti-party is suspending those who have worked hard for PDP, I have no other job than to put more heat on them” he added.
