Threat to cause mayhem: Wike has penchant for making inflammatory comments – Lawyer

A legal expert and public analyst, Justice Osai Ahiakwo has expressed worry over the threat by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesome Wike to cause chaos and incite PDP-controlled states that support Gov Sim Fubara of Rivers.

He described such a statement as a delusional disorder displayed by someone who was an immediate past governor of the same state.

In a press statement, Ahiakwo said such is an obvious show of rascality, too dangerous and reckless a speech for Nigerians to ignore, stressing that it has far-reaching consequences.

According to the lawyer, Wike has a penchant for making such inflammatory statements and is notorious for believing that he is above the law and that nothing can happen to him.

“He and his likes feel that they have the capacity to unleash horror against their perceived political enemies.

“A stop to all this myriad of unguarded statements will protect the sacredness of human dignity.”

The lawyer cautioned that the FCT minister and his supporters are not immune from being arraigned before a competent court for his recent threat to cause mayhem and disorder in the PDP states.

“According to Section 51 (1)(a)-(e) of the Criminal Code Act, hitherto provides that his utterances offend the law of sedition.

“The unsavoury remarks by politicians must be discouraged as the laws of Nigeria are made to be obeyed stricto-senso.”
