Three individuals, namely Alani Aderopo, Sheriff Adejare, and Aderopo Quadri, have been brought before the Isabo Customary Court to face charges of theft, amounting to an estimated value of almost N1 million.

Presenting themselves in court on Tuesday, the trio’s alleged actions led to their arrest on February 3, 2023, at approximately 7:45 pm in the vicinity of Mulemosun Street, Idia Randa, Abeokuta.

The three defendants were confronted with a set of four charges, including conspiracy, stealing, damaging property, and assault.

Court records indicate that the addresses of the accused were not provided. It was alleged that the three suspects pilfered various items, including a sum of two hundred and fifty-five thousand naira (255,000), an iPhone 11 Promax valued at five hundred and fifty-five thousand naira (555,000), and an Oraimo Power bank valued at twenty thousand naira (20,000). These belongings belonged to one Adejare Olasunkanmi.

Moreover, it is alleged that the defendants caused damage to a Techno POP 4, two power banks, and a screen for an Infinix Smart 5, totaling approximately twenty-five thousand naira (25,000). Additionally, during the alleged incident, they inflicted injuries on Olasunkanmi’s face and arm.

Despite the charges against them, the trio entered a plea of not guilty during the court proceedings.

In response, the court adjourned the case until September 12, 2023, allowing time for further investigation and legal proceedings.
