In a meeting with members of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) at the State House in Abuja on Friday, President Bola Tinubu expressed deep concern over the prevailing insecurity in the country.

He announced the government’s contemplation of deploying forest guards equipped with advanced training, modern technological gadgets, and weapons to bolster national security.

President Tinubu highlighted divisiveness as a significant challenge facing the nation and urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to work towards healing and unifying the country.

Emphasising the importance of a collective national vision, he called on the governing party to channel energy and resources into nation-building.

During the meeting, Tinubu implored governors affiliated with the APC to prioritize policies that benefit all Nigerians, urging them to consider national interest above political affiliations.

He stressed the need for inclusive, owned, and sustainable development policies to impact citizens’ lives positively.

In addressing the education sector, President Tinubu revealed plans to move the school feeding program from the Humanitarian Ministry to the Education Ministry.

He urged governors to devise a comprehensive framework for the successful implementation of the program nationwide, emphasising the importance of involving all governors, irrespective of their political stance.

Expressing optimism about Nigeria’s potential, Tinubu stated that the country is endowed with abundant human, natural, and material resources.

He pledged to re-engineer the financial system for inclusivity, effectiveness, and efficiency to address challenges such as infrastructure decay, inadequate education, and healthcare facilities.

On security matters, the President announced considerations for the deployment of forest guards with improved training and modern technology.

He also disclosed plans to secure the solid mineral and marine economic sectors through specialized police forces.
