President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Monday, held separate private meetings with the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, alongside his elder brother and business mogul, Chief Adedeji Adeleke, and globally acclaimed Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.

The president also received  the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara at his Lagos residence in Tuesday .

The meeting, which was not officially announced beforehand, became public knowledge after photographs surfaced online, showing the President in closed-door discussions with the Adeleke family and Fubara  in separate meetings.

The purpose and outcome of the visits were not disclosed as of the time of filing this report.

The development was confirmed in posts by the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, who wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu receives in audience, H.E. Ademola Adeleke, the Executive Governor of Osun State, and Chief Adedeji Adeleke and his son and Afrobeats star #Davido at his residence in Lagos.”

While details remain scant, political analysts suggest the visit could have far-reaching implications, considering the Adeleke family’s influence in Osun State politics and Davido’s global celebrity status.

The meeting between  President Tinubu and  Fubara, on Tuesday, sources  described it as a crucial follow-up to earlier deliberations aimed at resolving the prolonged political crisis in the oil-rich state.

Photos released by the State House media unit showed Fubara in a serious conversation with the President at the Lagos residence.

However, no statement was issued by either party concerning the details or outcomes of the meeting.

Fubara’s visit marks the second time he would be meeting the President privately since his suspension from office on March 18, 2025.

His deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly were also suspended by the President, following months of political instability and open confrontation between the executive and legislative arms in the state.

In a nationwide broadcast shortly after the suspensions, President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, citing the urgent need to “restore stability and constitutional order.”

He subsequently appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas as the State Administrator to oversee governance for a six-month period.

Fubara’s latest audience with Tinubu is seen as part of ongoing efforts to broker peace and determine the future political direction of the embattled governor and his suspended administration.

The back-to-back meetings with top political figures and influential stakeholders underscore what insiders describe as a season of strategic consultations by the Tinubu presidency, as the nation grapples with regional tensions and prepares for crucial reforms.

Though no formal press briefings followed either of the meetings, political watchers believe the engagements are part of Tinubu’s broader strategy to consolidate national unity and douse political crises across key states.
