President Bola Tinubu has formally informed the Senate of his decision to withdraw the nomination of a controversial  Kano nominee, Maryam Shetty as a Minister.

The president also told the Senate that he would be replacing her with the nomination of  Mairiga Mahmud, also  from Kano State.

The president took this step on Friday, as he expanded the roster of ministerial nominees to include  his campaign spokesperson, Festus Keyamo, SAN.

Maryam Shetty was originally part of the President’s initial list of 19  candidates, which had been previously submitted to the National Assembly for their scrutiny and approval.
