The Muslim Congress (TMC) has rounded off its four-day National Islamic Training Programme (NITP) with a call on Nigerian youths to resist the pressures associated with globalisation and the digital revolution, and to uphold values that are pleasing to Allah.
The charge was given by Sheikh Hammid Yusuf Aderemi in a lecture titled “Challenges of the Contemporary Time as It Affects the Youth” at the closing ceremony of the programme held at Vanguards Academy, Odosengolu, via Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Sheikh Aderemi admonished young Muslims to remain steadfast in faith amid moral and social challenges of the 21st century, noting that discipline, knowledge and God-consciousness remain key to navigating modern realities.
The annual training, which was the 32nd edition in the history of the organisation, attracted over 2,000 delegates across campsites in Ogun, Edo, Oyo states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Earlier, the Amir (President) of TMC, Alhaji Taiwo AbdulWasii Bangbala, expressed appreciation to participants for maintaining high standards of conduct throughout the camping exercise.
He urged them to translate lessons learnt during the programme into their daily lives and interactions.
Bangbala also commended a delegate from Ado-Odo/Ota, Ogun State, Mr AbdulHakeem Jumah, for what he described as exemplary selflessness, citing his habit of quietly picking and properly disposing of litter around the camp kitchen even when unobserved.
The closing ceremony featured the presentation of awards to winners of the National Qur’anic Competition organised as part of the programme. Saheed Abdul Rahman from Lagos State emerged third, Ukba Abdulakeem from Ogun State came second, while Abdul Sanur Adebayo from Ondo State clinched first position.
According to the organisers, the competition was aimed at encouraging the memorisation of the Qur’an and preserving the pristine nature of the Islamic faith.
On the sidelines of the event, TMC also unveiled its digital portal, described as a one-stop platform for the organisation’s activities and services.
Introducing the portal, the Naibul Amir (Vice President), Administration, Alhaji Mikail Oriolowo Animashaun, said members would be able to input their data and access various congress services online.
The portal was demonstrated to delegates and guests by the National Information and Communication Technology Officer, Ustadh AbdulAzeez Aderopo.
The theme of this year’s NITP was “Guidance and Direction for Today’s Muslims.”
The four-day camping programme, which ran concurrently across the four sites from Wednesday, December 24, to Sunday, December 28, 2025, featured soul-lifting lectures, games, personality development sessions and career talks.
The programme climaxed with the inauguration of national and state leaders of the organisation, during which the Amir, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan Adeshina, was returned, alongside the inauguration of wulats (coordinators) and secretaries across operating states.
