Emmanuel Oludare

The Trade Leaders Council of Nigeria has appointed former Ogun State House of Representatives member, Hon. Jelili Kayode Amusan, as the Patron of the Association.

This was announced in a statement issued by the Council after a meeting of its Central Working Committee.

The statement, signed by the President, Prince Femi Egbodofo, and the Secretary General, Mr. Fijabi Saheed Abiola, highlighted that Hon. Amusan was chosen due to his significant contributions to national development and his active efforts to enhance the standard of living for the members of the Association.

“We are pleased and delighted to inform you that, at the end of the Council Central Working Committee meeting held on Friday, 19th July, 2024, we have resolved to appoint you, Hon. Abd-Jeleel Kayode Amusan, as our Patron.

“ This decision is in recognition of your unrivaled contribution to socio-economic development in the country and Ogun State in particular,” the statement read.

The Trade Leaders Council, a corporate amalgamation of registered trade associations, represents a diverse membership, including farmers, professionals, artisans, and both skilled and unskilled tradesmen and women. The group boasts over 500,000 members nationwide.

The statement further emphasised that Hon. Kayode Amusan’s appointment was fitting, given his unblemished track record as a politician and business magnate.

It further stated that his generosity and role as an inspiration to the less privileged were also noted as significant factors in the decision.

In his closing remarks, the Council President expressed optimism that if more politicians emulated the example set by Hon. Amusan, society would be a much better place to live in.
