The Baale of Keesan Orile in Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Waheed Adeyemi Abodunrin, has commended the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his dedication to infrastructural development, human capital growth, and creating a conducive business environment.
Speaking during a media chat on Monday, the traditional head lauded Governor Abiodun for steering Ogun State to the forefront of ease of doing business in Nigeria.
He also praised the administration’s efforts in addressing insecurity and fostering a robust relationship with traditional institutions in the state.
Abodunrin noted that Governor Abiodun’s leadership style has brought significant progress to Ogun State, particularly in improving rural and border road networks and enhancing the state’s security architecture.
Highlighting the governor’s achievements, Abodunrin stated, “Governor Dapo Abiodun’s compassion for his people is evident in his exceptional governance.
For instance, his work on neglected rural roads and border communities with Lagos has been fantastic and remarkable. His administration has reconstructed major federal roads like the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and the Benin-Ijebu Ode road, alongside building over 600km of roads in less than six years without owing workers a dime. This is a miracle in this part of the world.”
He also commended the governor for enhancing the state’s security framework by fostering synergy among security agencies and strengthening local intelligence units like Amotekun.
According to Abodunrin, these measures have significantly reduced criminal activities, including cultism, leading to a more business-friendly environment.
Abodunrin described Ogun State as a hub of economic growth, hosting over 6,000 manufacturing firms and achieving rapid growth in internally generated revenue. He attributed this success to the governor’s strategic policies.
“Every resident of Ogun State is proud to identify with the Gateway State. We are now one of the fastest-growing states in terms of internally generated revenue, ranking just behind Lagos and Rivers States,” Abodunrin added.
The traditional head also highlighted the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport as a monumental achievement under Governor Abiodun’s administration.
Located along the Ilisan-Iperu axis, the airport boasts the longest runway in West Africa and world-class facilities, making it a significant asset for the state and Nigeria.
Abodunrin urged the governor to maintain the current pace of development, emphasizing the unwavering support of traditional institutions in the state.
“My advice to the governor is to sustain this present feat and his tempo of transformation. The traditional institution and other clusters of the state are behind him and deeply appreciate his relentless pursuit of greatness for Ogun State. On behalf of myself and the entire Keesan Orile Land, I wish our amiable governor a prosperous new year,” Abodunrin concluded.
Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration continues to gain recognition for its strides in transforming Ogun State, positioning it as a model for development and governance in Nigeria.
