Tragedy struck Chirokusko village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State on Monday night as a man, identified as Danga Shiru Wanzam, allegedly stabbed his 17-year-old son, Abdulra’uf Abdullahi, to death during a domestic dispute.
The unfortunate incident reportedly occurred at about 10:00 p.m., throwing the quiet community into mourning.
A security analyst, Zagazola Makama, disclosed the development in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, stating that the father used a knife to stab his son in the chest during an altercation. The cause of the disagreement remains unclear as of the time of filing this report.
Makama wrote, “The father, Danga Shiru Wanzam, allegedly stabbed his son, Abdulra’uf Abdullahi, in the chest with a knife. The exact cause of the dispute is yet to be known.”
Eyewitnesses said police officers who arrived at the scene rushed the teenage victim to the General Hospital in Babbangida. However, medical personnel on duty confirmed that he was brought in dead.
The Yobe State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the suspect, who reportedly fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Efforts to reach police authorities for official comments proved abortive as calls to the Command’s spokesperson were not returned as of press time.
Residents of Chirokusko village have continued to express shock over the incident, describing it as both disturbing and heartbreaking.
